Why I love it: This is the first article I would recommend reading for back to school icebreakers. So many good ideas! And let’s face it, when we work with students long enough, we notice the things that work and the ones that don’t. This article provides proven ideas to engage students. I know from my own experience that doing classroom icebreakers with older students can be tricky. Reading about activities that won’t get my high schoolers feel embarrassed is always helpful.
Why I love it: This post is written for music teachers. But I actually think that teachers of other subjects can benefit from it even more. The author states clearly – the more you know about your students, the more creative you can be in teaching them!
The article presents a very common activity. But it is also so useful. Stepping into a new class, a smart teacher needs to know the students. The sooner that happens, the better the classroom wil be.

Why I love it: These are really great activities. They are quite wonderful if you teach middle school. The coolest thing about the post is actually the comments of other teachers also sharing their experiences and what they do.

Why I love it: I really like the suggestions in this article. I teach middle school. I can see my students at the middle school level liking the games a lot.
