I love Easter and as a teacher, I use lots of educational games and activities with my younger students. It is around Easter when all of my students express unbelievable enthusiasm for my music class! Through the years we have developed wonderful Easter music games for kids that kids love and simply cannot get enough of. Now I am set out to re-design the same games so they can be used by any parent at home or by any teacher as fun educational Easter games.
Easter festivities provide a wonderful opportunity for parents and teachers to fit more fun learning into the every day activities. Children are very much involved in Holidays and family traditions. Using that as an educational tool can enhance their motivation to learn.
Educational Easter Games for Kids
I love using Easter eggs to develop educational activities for my younger students. You can do so much with them! I often use the plastic eggs they sell at all stores around that time of year. They are unexpensive, available everywhere around Easter, and full of possibilities. Depending on the goal I wish for, the eggs can be filed with different challenges, different prizes, or they can be the base of creating a game. Here are just some ideas.
Easter Educational Egg Hunt Game at Home
I was asked to write an article by VoiceBox for parents with games kids can play around Easter. The Easter egg can have a small challenge inside- a math assignment, make your bed assignment, language arts, etc. As shown in the picture below you can create two short HW activities for your child, and put a small candy or jelly bean in the last egg. They will need to complete the assignments in order to get to the treat. Make it even more fun? Hide the eggs around the house and see how soon your child will get to the egg with the treat inside.
You can very effectively use the same idea for house chores. Instead of an assignment out a house chore that you want your child to do. Again, make if fun. Have a few eggs with chores and a few filled with treats. Create an activity where your child has to guess which one is which. You may end up with a squeaky clean house by Easter! You can connect the Easter egg hunt into various educational games. This way the play will also nurture love for learning and practice skills. Please take a look at this article for extra tips – Easter Games at Home – Turning Easter Into Educational Opportunity For Your Child
Easter Music Games For Young Kids
Easter Music Games For Kids Already in Music Lessons
If your child is already in music lessons, you can use these practice games and activities to spice up their practice and create enthusiasm. These have proven very effective for my students up through 6th grade. However, an older student can also appreciate some fun when learning. Keep in mind that Easter happens around the time of the year when students need a change of pace in order to stay motivated. Using a game or fun activity around this time is always a good idea.

At The End
All children learn though games and play. This is a natural part of their development. Using fun activities to help them learn can be so powerful! As an extra bonus, you will also be bonding with your child at home or with your students if you decided to use these in your classroom. Kids remember fun activities and create memories they eventually want to start with their own children. So let’s create more fun and more traditions with our kids!
